Fiscal Responsibility

Mayor Goins will continue to promote fiscal responsibility for the long-term financial health of our city to adequately serve the needs of our community. His priorities include a transparent and participatory budget process that prioritizes spending and funding responsibly to address public needs. He will work on improving our debt management and financial strategies to reduce liabilities and free up resources for essential services.

Mayor Goins will also develop the city’s equipment replacement program to minimize the impact on private revenue streams due to maintenance expenses. Another priority is expanding the property tax base by returning city-owned properties to the tax rolls and conducting debt analysis, which is a valuable tool for funding capital projects without incurring long-term liabilities for short-term benefits. In short, Mayor Goins is committed to prioritizing the city’s financial health.
