A Letter from Mayor David Goins

Dear Friends,

I would like to take a moment to thank you for your support. I am honored to have served as Mayor of Alton for a little over 1 year now. It still seems like just yesterday, in the middle of a pandemic, that my campaign team, many of you and I celebrated the success of the 2021 Mayoral election, on April 6th 2021.

The campaign team worked hard, and my supporters did too! Yet, due to CDC guidelines the team had to cancel plans for hosting all in person fundraisers. Nonetheless, thanks to supports like you who mailed in checks, and made online donations, in the midst of a pandemic… the campaign was a great success!

With this said, today is a new day and Sheila and I are delighted to announce plans for the Inaugural Mayoral Charity Ball and Fundraiser in the great city of Alton!

The 2022-Mayor’s Charity Ball-Fundraiser will donate a portion of the proceeds to Oasis Women’s Center in Alton, IL. The Oasis Women’s Center is an emergency shelter for victims of domestic abuse. They provide counseling, advocacy, help with orders of protection, transportation, and childcare.

I would like to thank you in advance for your continued support, donations, and your presence at the Mayor’s Charity Ball-Fundraiser.
